Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge

The Spoon full of Sugar challenge was to create anything but a card. The DT entries are totally gorgeous - you can find the link in my sidebar.
You can now also use ANY stamp you like so I decide to use one of my new Spiral Whisper stamps to create a bookmark.

Photobucket

Quite simple but I like it.

Stamp: Martha Ballerina from Kerry Steptoe @ Spiral Whisper, ProMarkers, gel pen and glaze pen. Mounted onto pink card from Paper Mill. Ribbon from Dovecraft. Stickers are Papermania and read 'Love a Good Book'.

Odds and ends!

I've really struggled to do any actual challenges this week!! But I'm hoping to get all of the 'usuals' done this week as well as any cards I need for this month so hoping to have lots to show my blogging buddies!
BUT in the meantime here are some I made JFF (just for fun!):

Photobucket

Stamp: Sleigh ride from Sugar Nellie, Pro Markers, glaze pen, gel pen and stickles.
Mounted onto silver CS, and Dovecraft DP (Tis the Season paper pad) and red card blank, stamped with white using a Lizzie Anne Designs 'snowflake' stamp from Silly Monkey Crafts. Sentiment is a peel off.

Photobucket
Stamp: Whipper Snapper 'Sundae', Pro Markers, glaze pen, gel pen. Inked round the edges with an Ink It Up pad.
Gems from Papermania. Vintage style alphabet dome stickers from Silly Monkey, spells out 'enjoy it' - much clearer in real life! Pink bazzil CS and a dark pink card blank. Anita's sticky ribbon.

Photobucket
Stamp: Whipper Snapper 'Denny Dinosaur', Pro Markers, gel pen. Gems from Papermania. Inked edges with Ink It up pad. Patterned CS from a DCWV glitter pad. Orange card from Paper Mill. Green card blank. Sentiment is a peel off.

Photobucket
Stamp: Lizzie Anne designs 'fairy' from Silly Monkey, Pro Markers, gel pen and stickles. Gems from my stash. Inked edges with Whispers lilac ink pad. Mounted on pink bazzill. Sentiment is a rub on. Anita's sticky ribbon. Cream card blank, stamped with Lizzie Anne designs 'sunflower' using an Ink It Up purple.

Photobucket
Stamp: Whipper Snapper 'party koala', Pro Markers, gel pen and glaze pen. Gems from stash. Mounted on blue bazzil. Blue embossed 'swiss dots' card. White DL card blank. Sentiment is a sticker (Papermania I think)

Thanks for looking!

BLOG CANDY!

Well there is some WONDERFUL blog candy up for grabs on Christine's blog : http://craftlingscosycorner.blogspot.com/

She also has there her thought-provoking arguments on word verification on blogs:
"ARGUMENTS AGAINST WORD VERIFICATION

Everyone will have their own view, but in my case, I regard the removal of word verification as a basic courtesy to my visitors who are kind enough to take the time to leave comments. Being aware of their comments through comment moderation, but not hindering them with word verification is the very least I can do to reciprocate their courtesy to me.

The problem with word verification is that it takes too long. The characters are very often hard to decipher, and it’s frustrating when you get them wrong and have to re-enter the little suckers!

So this campaign is on behalf of busy bloggers. Please spare a thought for the poor bloggers who work so hard at getting round as many blogs as possible to leave sprinkles of blessing and good vibes wherever they go. The terrible proliferation of this awful plague of word verification is a blight on their efforts to make the Land of Blog a cheerier place.

I think most people just have word verification switched on by default, not realising how easy it is to switch it off, and perhaps not realising how annoying it is for other bloggers. Either that, or they’re under the misapprehension that they will be bombarded with spam messages. This is not the case. I’ve had mine switched off now for three of the four months that I’ve been blogging, and have had two spam comments. The responses I’ve had from other bloggers to my earlier posts on this topic back this up. (You can see the comments in response to my previous post on this subject, HERE.)

For safety’s sake, have comment moderation on for sure, but please consider canceling word verification on your blog. Maybe for a trial period, and see how you get on.

Unless there are thousands of comments being left, comment moderation shouldn’t be too much of an issue for the blog owner, and other bloggers will also be more inclined to leave comments if they can see that you don’t use word verification.

However, each to their own, and if you disagree with me, that’s cool. We can agree to differ and not visit each other’s blogs! lol ;o)
OK.. rant over. If you have read all the way to the end, thank you for putting up with it, and ~ obviously ~ do what you wish on your blogs, but I had to say something. I love to get around and leave comments, but word verification spoils the experience.
Of course, when I get my new job, all this will be academic to me, as I will then have a life, and I won't have time for much blog-hopping!! Not that blog-hoppers need to get a life.. Errr... think I'll stop digging now, before I get into REAL trouble!! lol ;o)"

I have to say I'd never really considered the whole word verification issue before but I can see Christine's point and so I've turned mine off. Hope this is appreciated by all my blog visitors ;-)

Stamp Something Challenge

I like the Stamp Something challenge this week - its quite broad 'Birthday Somethings' but it gave me the chance to use another Whipper Snapper stamp (god I love them!) that I hadn't managed to use yet.
So here he is, 'Birthday Beagle' :

Photobucket

I find with the Whipper Snapper stamps that on the whole they are quite large and so I find it works best to keep the card simple.
I coloured Birthday Beagle with Pro Markers, gel pen and glaze pen. Hes matted onto purple vellum. Then onto cuttlebug embossed card onto a purple card blank. The sentiment is from my stash.

Thank you Kristin!

Well today I've been given a FAB award by my blogging buddy and SBS sister Kristin

Photobucket

The rules for this award are:

2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the girls you've nominated.

So my seven nominees are:
1. Jo
2. Lindsey
3. April
4. Anne-Marie
5. Carol
6. Anne
7. Michelle

Some of you may have been nominated before (I did try to make sure you hadn't but I might have slipped up!) but I just wanted to give everyone a chance to see some of your amazing work!!

And thanks again for the award Kristin!

Cute Card Thursday

Another fab challenge from Cute Card Thursday, this week is bright colours. Fab cards from all the DT as usual.

This is mine:
Photobucket

Isn't he gorgeous?! My little angel is a Whipper Snapper stamp coloured with Pro Markers - I liked the idea of quite a poignant message with a bright and cheerful coloured image. Matted and layered on bazzill basics card stock. Its quite a simple card but I think the little angel boy has to take centre stage!!

Sketch Saturday Challenge

Over at Sketch Saturday this week you will find another fab sketch:
Photobucket

Jo is also asking this week for people to apply to join her Design Team. To do this you have to make two projects using her sketch, one of which must be a Christmas theme. I ended up making three cards using this sketch (and I'm sure I'll end up using it again soon!) but here are the two for my entry to the DT call:

For Tilda I used: Tilda stamp, Pro Markers, gel pen and glaze pen, paper from a stack by QVC, cuttlebug swiss dots card, light blue card from my stash, adhesive gem stones and a 'yummy birthday' rub on from DoCrafts.
